As stated before, I am releasing updates to the demo to introduce much needed polish and refinement, and to fix any potential issues.
This is demo 1.1! An update I'm very proud of that turned out way larger in scope than what I planned. Taking a break has given me a moment to come back to this with a clear mind on the areas that need polish in the game.
There might be one more update to the demo if I find enough content to add to it, but for now, this is already way better than the original released version.
- Revamped the game over/game won screens to make them a bit more fun. I have introduced 1 bit drawing cards for each, and I plan to try to use this style more in the full game!
- Picking up the phone or putting it down now has a quick animation, along with a slight cool down.
- In addition, a static sound now plays from the phone.
- The level select screen has been revamped as well to something more modular, fitting the full game's future needs for more levels!
- There are now trophies awarded for achieving certain objectives in the game. At the moment, there is only one awarded for completing the 5 demo levels.
- The game now takes a few seconds before taking you to a winning or losing screen.
- Better transitions between different scenes (screens) in the game that now fade in and out, instead of only fading out.
- The game's logo now animates in the main menu.
- The game is now full screen. I plan to eventually allow customizing this properly, but full screen is the better, more immersive default option. To make the game easier to navigate with this change, there are now return buttons in both the level select menu and the game level itself.
